Does anyone have any news of how successful the gauging runs, for C and D Stocks into Lillie Bridge Depot, were last night ?

Well they've nearly finished the signalling modifications, so I imagine that they have already done that. Must have used an engineers train.

Was supposed to have been Monday night/Tuesday 27/28 September. Did it happen?

The SSL upgrade are hailing it as a success, however they hailed the Uxbridge works where a signal kept returning to danger in front of trains a success.
I shall reserve judgement for the time being, though it will be interesting to see how long it takes before they realise exactly why Lillie Bridge ceased to be the Piccadilly Line's depot some seventy years or so earlier...

as i understand it it all going to happen via olympia not west ken as any foul up and it shuts the east and westbound roads at least olympia does not shut the lot down

It happened on Wednesday night.
I guess it was a success in that it highlighted areas in need of some clearance work and there were not many, all but one was associated with new works in preparation for resumed use as passenger rolling stock depot.
The first and probably most unexpected gauge "fail" was when the C stock hit the platform ramp at Chiswick Park. The D stock had it's gauging additions knocked off at the same location though did get past without striking the platform ramp albeit without the desired clearance. A 5mph TSR is now in force through out Chiswick Park platform area.
The delay caused by the above meant that not all roads were gauge tested, or by both types, owing to lack of time. However the D stock got round everywhere it tested albeit with one inadequate clearance. The C stock couldn't get past the inadequate clearance found by the D at all and found a few more that it passed but which need more clearance for the required tollerence. The C also found another complete obstruction which was attended to there and then with hammers and hacksaws!

Thus no conflicting movement expected! (The new WTT exists now so someone may know exacly what plans have become reality. I haven't seen it). However Lillie Bridge will be used to get rid of trains during disruption or lack of a crews. There are delays knocking about in these circumstances anyway so again the use of Lillie Bridge shouldn't add much, especially after the remodeling of Parsons Green means all west to east moves there will require a measure of bidirectional running against normal flow, so will be just as disruptive.

Are trains entering Lillie Bridge only able to leave the way they came in, or is there any danger of a D stock ending up back to front by entering the depot from one end and leaving by the other?

They can only enter the same way they left, so a train will not get turned round. I think that needs expanding slightly to make it clearer... Whatever way they come in, the routes converge such that there is effectively only one way in and out. It's therefore totally impossible to turn a train. EDIT: not bad considering I haven't even been road trained yet...

Plus some of the signalling mods are being done by the same TLL people who have been doing the CTFS project - still non functioning and has led to less reliable and resiliant equipment than before! Breathe is not being held.

Breathe is not being held. AIUI the contractor doing the signalling works don't have any LU experienced designers and not all of the required testers and is having to be bailed out by... LU! ;D

Just a point....
When people do testing they're trying to confirm that things do work with an expectation that some things might fail
When people do demonstrations, they're trying to confirm to others that things do work with the expectation that everything does work.
What's been done recently is testing.
This might come over as a fine point!

I realise now what a stupid question I had asked Because the entrance to LB from West Ken leaves to the north of the line, I had assumed it approached the depot from the south. Had that been the case, the depot would have been one side of an EC, WK, OLY triangle. But it isn't. Looking more clsoely at the map I see that both WK and Oly approaches converge north of the depot, (passing over the main line just east of West Ken) and so trains must arrive east-end first, and come out west end first.

So, will Triangle Sidings cease being used after the 12 Dec 2010 WTT change? If so, will it still be available for emergency use, or out-of-commission prior to rebuilding for S7 Stock?

And the opposite view using Street View, though this looks as if it were taken quite a while ago, obviously prior to the upgrade works there. Looks like Hammersmith depot from a distance.

Triangle will be out of action whilst they modify the site where there is 2 roads at moment this will become 1 and where there is 3 working roads (yes 4 in reality) this will become 2 it was all suppose to start in december but dont hold your breath

(Even more embarrassed) I used to work in that tall building on the right, and watched Earls Court 2 being built. But siemhow I still had it in my head that the District Main Line ran to the south of Lillie Bridge!

D stock in Lillie Bridge is nothing new. Member BigAl sent me a picture of such activity taken in his days as a ballast motorma PG?n there in the 1980's!
If I can wake him up in Haverfordwest, I'll get him to post it here.
BTW, what's the plan to remodel PG?

BTW, what's the plan to remodel PG? It's all wrapped up with the proposed redevelopment of the Earl's Court exhibition Centres, Ashfield House and surrounding area. I think there's a variety of proposals but I think they will all need to include the rafting over of the whole of the depot! Time will tell I'm sure.........

PG as in Parsons Green? Or am I being slow again.. PG = Parsons Green as far as I'm concerned I think perhaps Dave has read PG as LB as what he is reffering to (Ashfield House/Earls Ct etc) has no bearing on PG as far as I'm concerned as for PG ... I believe 29 road won't be extended (or it simply isn't possible to do so) to accomodate 'S7' stock, so other than that becoming defunct in due course, I don't think PG will change a great deal in terms of stabling berths

Oops sorry - you're quite right - misread PG for LB I believe what you suggest is correct - effectively losing 29Rd, though I think other track etc. will be improved - much of it is very 'tired' and of course all the signalling will need to be upgraded in the fullness of time. So the net result of the loss of one road at PG and two roads at TS means that LB will be a permanent facility, and also that there will be more trains to be stabled eventually.

The last set of plans I saw made Parsons Green rather less suitable for curtailment of late trains as all such moves involved an element of wrong direction running. Cross over points all being east of Parsons Green, so a Westbound train reversing via 23 or 24 road, has to run via and detrain on the Eastbound Platform, whilst a train entering service Eastbound from 21 or 22 road has to run via the Westbound platform.
In fairness I'd have thought you could get an S7 on most of the roads with the points where they are now (as there is quite a bit of over run on most of them) but perhaps not all.
That said these plans were seen at least six months ago!

How has lillie been coping with the stabling of trains at the yard? Being a new stabling yard for LU stock has there been any hiccups? How did the yard to with the snow fall?
I am assuming things had been prepered well in advance for everything to have run smooth but anything could happen.

Being an east end driver, I can only tell you the following: - 2 stabling points cannot be used at all (10 middle & 10 bottom)
- C stocks cannot stable on 10 top
- There has been at least one occasion where trains couldn't be accepted because of the weather - that was later revised to entry via Olympia only (in fairness, Ealing Common had a similar issue at the same time)
- The possession for Triangle sidings has not been taken
