As a new member of this forum I have been reading previous threads on various subjects. One that caught my attention was the suggestion(s) with regard to recreating rolling stock that has long been scrapped. The recreation of an 'F' stock train appears to find a lot of support. My suggestion is to create an 'F' stock train out of one of the soon to be withdrawn 'A' stock trains if at all feasible. First of all is it possible? and is there enough people out there with the necessary skills and motivation to make it happen.

Painting A stock you mean!!
Actually, I would suggest C stock would be better as they were the same width and the trailers were a similar length.
The problem with making an F stock train would be the bogies and equipment. The F stock bogies were unique and the equipment was electro-magnetic. The only similar equipments were found on the Q stock and the Standard stock. The motors were GE212s, and different to the Q and Standard stock WB54s?
Use withdrawn A stock......

I wonder how fast the F stock got, especially when running non-stop between Finchley Rd and Rayners Lane.

Actually what I had in mind was using the underframes and equipment and building replica bodies on the frames, not a perfect replica but an economical way of recreating a lost type at minimum expense.
