www.flickr.com/photos/calamityjon/4745203494/I don't recall that one though I read precious few Eagle comics (it was before my time, ahem!). That said I was given various annuals which I regret that I did not keep. A contributor to Vintage Roadscene wanted to obtaion the rights to publish a copy of the cutaway of a Midland Red BMMO Motorway Coach though the present-day rights holders wanted too much money.

What wonderful images. The Eagle cutaway drawings that I recall were not in colour, one of those I remember was a brilliant drawing of a submarine. As for this batch of colour cutaways I was taken with all the locomotive drawings but also with the great view of the PO railway.

I gather that there is a new book out with all of the cutaways featured.
I remember seeing an feature in Eagle on the Fell diesel-mechanical. Some years back I persuaded the then RAIL editor to feature a series on the eary diesels, starting with Col. Fell's masterpiece.

Interestingly the 38TS cutaway shows the 'Sunshine' trailer behind the DM. This must date this cutaway in the Eagle to a certain period of time.

I believe that one appears in "Modern Trains", a book I had been given second hand as a youngster in the early 1960s. It was in a poor state but I picked up an almost pristine copy on Ebay about two years ago and rather than throw the original Im put it on Ebay and got more for it than the one I bought cost! There is also one of Bank that has appeared over the years and I believe another book in my collection has one of Charing Cross (Embankment) as it was named when it was drawn.
