One time whilst behind the driving cab of a 165 on the Met Main, I heard a repeated, insistent beeping (not an AWS beep) issuing from the compartment that seemed to coincide with the train passing each signal on the route.
Now I do know that the ATP system is placed into an 'advisory' mode that restricts train speed to 60mph when the train passes from NR to LU, but what else does the ATP system do whilst on the Met?
