Could any of the drivers on the forum explain why tonight the 10:04 to New Cross at Rotherhithe stopped so the last door (nearest the steps up to the entrance) was before the barrier at the end of the platform.
How can a driver stop a full 3-4metres in front of where they should stop?

It's possible that either;
They misjudged their braking and stopping The train wasn't particuarly good at braking when requested The railhead conditions were poor

There is an uphill gradient into the platform from the Thames Tunnel which can sometimes cause a driver to misjudge their braking. However, all drivers at trained to stop correctly at the stop marker and if they stop short, they should draw forward before releasing the doors.
