Yes, but constantly pandering to people, wrapping them up in cotton wool... only annoys people who do know what they are doing...

One of my pet hates happens to be when you get a bill, say a gas bill... you query it and you get told exactly what you already know... they'll repeat the meter reading you submitted, so on about the cost per unit, how many units you have used since the last bill... etc etc etc...

You'll mention that you already know the meter reading because you submitted it, so don't need to be told. They'll reply with that they told you only for information... You then reply that you already know as you have the initial bill and can work things out and thus do not need to be told again and again...

Some people are however just not clued up and/or are just ignorant or arrogant. And thus do need to be reminded...

I myself have no problem with the announcements... I sometimes do them myself, when people hold back the doors for example... I make a very firm point of announcing it in a thoroughly monotone voice, two or three times in quick succession...

They get the message eventually...

Only once has some pax told me I don't need to keep repeating it over and over... I replied that it would help if people listened to the initial announcement instead of having the blinkers on and only seeing what is in front and not around them! Pax defeated...

Ah those clueless Euro-Trash toursist. The bain of the world I quite agree. Not like fine upstanding British folk who go to The Continent for some sun, go lobster red during the day, drink 10 pints of an evening, smash the place up and then demand a fried breakfast and watch Eastenders and Coronation Street in a bar to recover.

Quite agree that overdoing announcements can be annoying though. Have you tried using the feedback section of LOROL's page? www.lorol.co.uk/contact-us.html# rather than slating other paying passengers of a different nationality who have less experience of navigating London than your good self?
