In January or February this year, the Eltham Regeneration Agency (a quango of Greenwich council apparently) was widely reported to have commissioned a feasibility study into an extension of the DLR from Woolwich Arsenal to Eltham. This was due to produce an interim report in April and a final report in May. It's now August and I can't find anything about the reports having been published - in contrast to the great fanfare surrounding its initiation.
The lack of any publicity might indicate that the link was found not to be feasible or perhaps not offer value for money (hence the report being quietly buried) but does anyone know anything more?

If they're going to bring it all the way round there, could they consider connecting it back up at Lewisham?

Any extension from the present Lewisham DLR station will be non-trivial as the track is pretty much at exactly the same level as the A20 that it would have to cross, and level crossings are not an option on the DLR (nor are they a realistic option on such busy roads and on rail links with such high frequencies). Looking at the map though it does seem an obvious link to make. I don't know the area, but would something like a tram route along the corridor be viable?

Depends on where it is in Eltham to be fair. Running as far down as Sidcup is too much really, and the line would need to go via any one of Catford, Hither Green or Ladywell to link with Lewisham for me, or possibly loop via the Grove Park area which I wouldn't recommend knowing that sort of area of the world.
