Can anyone tell me to the nearest foot the length of Bayswater and Gloucester Road westbound platforms headwall-to-headwall please. (Don't include the length of platform ramps)

When you stop a C stock at the stopping mark, the front of the train is right at the top of the ramp. The rear doors are also just at the top of the rear ramp, so using the Rolling Stock Information PDF that LU released a couple of years ago, I worked out the overall length of a C stock, then subtracted the distance from the end of the car to the first set of doors ;D ;D ;D

'cuse me askin', but why you wan' t' know. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 'cos I am corresponding with someone involved with the new SSL stock (who shall REMAIN anonymous) and we are talking all aspects of it from car lengths to train equipment.. Any useful input will be looked at.
I wil start a new thread fifthwith labelled "New SSL stock" in which you can all have a say in what YOU would like to see when it comes.

I'm a little worried if a guy who is involved with the new SSL stock has to come on here to find out the lengths of current platforms. Surely he has all the information he needs available by the company.

I too am a little concerned that Metronet can't write a decent spec to tell him how long they should be. He should at least have access to a set of scale plans.
Hold on, that's probably because we don't have any Rolling Stock engineers and 'the project manager is king'. [/sarcasm]
