When I was up at Amersham a while back I noticed that the repositioning of the signals on platform 2 for the S8 works also included the reinstallation of the old auxiliary red aspects. Were they moved to the new gantries because they still work, or were they moved for some other reason?
As an aside, it was rather weird to see an NR-style square 3-aspect signal head mated with an LU-style 3-light feather for JW71.

These were supposed to have been de-commissioned some time ago - from 23/3/04 in fact, in Traffic Circular 14/04 -
Auxiliary red aspects abolished on Metropolitan Line from south of Harrow-on-the-Hill – Amersham. Also includes auxiliary yellow on RJW1 (Amersham), RJB1 (Harrow) and JT8 (Chalfont) and auxiliary red on JT9 (Chalfont).
One wonders if it actually happened???

They were decommissioned, but may not have been removed. If someone has relocated them (contrary to the issued design) for S Stock sighting, well more fool them!

So they would have tested all the work after relocation! Me thinks not!Not as bad as first thought, JW71 northbound and JW3 southbound have been moved but retain their tripcock test indicators but no auxilary reds.
