An excellent documentary series on radio 4 called 'Howaay The Laughs' about Geordie comedians. Many of you probably won't understand what on earth is being talked about, but any North-Easteners will thoroughly enjoy it! The first episode mainly features the legendary Bobby Thompson, but also the likes of Mike Neville, George House, Alan Snell and the newer comedians like Ross Noble. The listen again feature can be found HERE!A quick Bobby Pattinson joke: What's the difference between Mothers Pride and a Labrador? Answer: They're different 'breeds'!* * Bread is pronounced breed in Newcastle.

]Isn't there something in this forum's WRM that says all posts should be in English? ----------------------------------------------------------------------- English? ENGLISH? ;D We ARE speaking english. Geordie is closer to original english than the froggified version down south. That is not to criticise the cockney vernacular but to state historicackle fact Sir. Now be quiet and go study yer windies!

Isn't there something in this forum's WRM that says all posts should be in English? Hope not, otherwise the Hedgehog and I are guilty of setting a poor example to you all. Still, the Vikings invaded so (parts of) the English language must have developed from Swedish, so that's my excuse ;D

Mike Neville....is that the same one from Look North? Indeed it is! But as Q8 correctly says, he moved to ITV/Tyne Tees several years ago.
