There used to be a connection from the Metropolitan Line to what was then the Bakerloo Line on the Baker Street side of Platform 2. I can remember Met Line trains using this crossover when proceeding out of service from Baker Street directly to Neasden Depot. Did the late night Met Line trains that called at all stations to Wembley Park also use this crossover? Also, when was the connection removed?

There was a connection just before the Met platforms (facing crossover) and I think one just after, and I think that there was also a crossover from the Bakerloo to the Met. The first was used by C Stock running over the Bakerloo first thing in the morning and late at night as the Bakerloo packed-up earlier than the Met. There was a 'loop' between the SB Bakerloo and SB Met just before Finchley Road.
The southernmost crossover was removed some years ago and I think that the only available one now is at Neasden?

The crossover south of the station was removed during the 1980's resignalling and the one north of the station was lost by default during the last 10 years after the derailment at White City brought to light a defect in the track geomety. The crossover between NB Bakerloo and NB Met was just north of West Hampstead and was removed during the same 1980's resignalling. See www.harsig.org/PDF/Bakerloo1939.pdf for the layout.

Many thanks for referring me to the Bakerloo diagram. It also answered another query I was going to raise regarding access to and from the Metropolitan Sidings at Finchley Road.

Many thanks once again. The diagrams I have been referred to are extremely helpful. Just have one query regarding Finchley Road. I seem to recollect seeing a Railway Clearing House Map that showed a connection through the sidings to the Midland goods yard. Will be pleased to have comments on this.
