Yes, I'm here to correct you Finchley Road, Harrow On The Hill and Wembley Park all mentioned the strike at some point yesterday. I had to wait 15 mins at Wembley Park for a train I could get on, but I guess it could have been worse, as I only needed to get to Ruislip Manor.

Is staff burning toast at stations (mentioned in another topic) a subtle form of "action"?

When I rung the Oyster helpline, the idiot on the phone said there would be no refund as the strike was publicised. He would not accept my argument that there was no publicity and even staff were unaware of it, and said that I would have known before I traveled (rubbish) and should have decided not to travel. Said idiot then refused flatly to put me through to a manager, and said if I wasn't happy I should write to Oyster, ignoring the fact that they don't reply to complaints. I'd hope that as part of the costcutting he is P45d, as he was about as intelligent as a toothbrush.

Didn't realise you could be refused to be connected to a manager?

Didn't realise you could be refused to be connected to a manager? First I've heard of this happening too - sounds very unprofessional.

Why contact Oyster? Where you overcharged for a journey made? Surely if it was for the delay you could complete a charter refund form found on stations with details of your delay?

Manual hard bristles, molar length. 3. Automatic medium. 4. Battery, molar length, soft but reciprocating. 5. Induction charged, non-recprocal, medium hardness, mixed length and variable head. 6. contra-rotatory, semi-reciprocating and ultrasonic. Hard; mixed length. </academic interest> ;D

The ruling doesn't apply during strike action, however LU stopped publising that the delays were due to strike action from 0701. They published no reason for the delays except between 1233 and 1301 when the reason was faulty trains. IMHO they can't have it both ways, hide behind the "no refund due to strike" clause but then fail to advertise there was a strike that is creating the delay.

I was attempting to claim for the delay, however the customer charter form states it cannot be used for industrial action and that, in the event of a strike, information will be displayed at affected stations. Nothing was on display at Amersham or Chesham and the ticket office bloke at Amersham suggested ringing Oyster as he, apparently, knew nothing until half an hour ago when he turned up to work.

Hence, using your own impeccable logic as you usually do; if there were nothing on display at your station, then there was no industrial action there. Hence you were disrupted by delays not a strike. Ergo you are entitled to a refund and should pursue it to the highest level with Oyster. Simples ;D ;D ;D.
