I've noticed the train describer on platform 1 at Harrow on the Hill includes 'Uxbridge' as a destination. Clearly, it's not possible to get a train from platform 1 to Uxbridge now, anyone know when this was last possible?
I'd guess maybe pre the Harrow - Watford south junction 4 tracking? I did wonder if there might have been a chord down from the track north of platform 1 to the Uxbridge line but I can't see how or where it would have fitted in.

There certainly was a track leading to the Uxbridge branch from platform 1. It branched off from the down fast line at the equipment room and gantry (the two speed restriction signs were there till recently and the bracket next to the current line is still visible). Other clues are the extension for a route indicator on the signal is still visible. The line then ran on a built up embankment next to the Uxbridge track and joined on very close to West Harrow. The shear concrete faces can be seen with railings although it is broken in one place.
As to its last use and removal I don't know. If you tube Metroland which was made in 1972, the line had gone, and the Harrow North Yard had been removed.

The "high level" line from HoH plat 1 to Uxbridge closed in 1967. I am sure the date has been already published somewhere on this forum, but couldn't suggest where!

Would "RUISLIP" have been added later?

Don't think so. It was there from the start. The connection to West Ruislip Depot came in 1975 however.

Pre-Ruislip siding, wasn't there a way for westbounds to reverse eastbound @ Ruislip via a crossover east of the station? Getting back on topic, I understand that semi-fasts to Uxbridge in the peaks would use platform 1 @ HOTH in the days when they ran non-stop from Finchley Rd to Rayners Lane.

I can confirm the crossover east of Ruislip. Behind/next to the GLAP in the ticket hall there used to be a poster frame which had a local area map in it, recent aswell. Detailed enough to show individual track layout (rails in fact), and this included the x-over on it, despite it haven't existed for possibly 30 years before the map was created!

There used to be a crossover west of Ruislip station as well - out of use 30 June 1929.
In the Met Railway WTT for 3 May 1920 there was evening peak Ruislip reverser, 17.14 Aldgate to Ruislip, fast Baker Street – Finchley Road and also non-stopping Rayners Lane and Ruislip Manor. Whether this train used the crossover west of the station, I don't know.
Today at Harrow-on-the-Hill, indicators platform 5 and 6 gone (for "refurbishment" so the PA announcements said), platform 1 not working, platforms 3 and 4 working.

I noticed the other night the indicator board above the stairs leading to platform 1 and 2 is not there. Has this recently disappeared or has it been gone for quite some time?

The signalling diagrams show having been updated in February 1967 for "Removal of N.B. Uxbridge Relief Road". I'm presuming that this the route concerned, although perhaps Harsig can help?

The describer board at P1 is now completely out of use, and not illuminated at all. The other boards still work but have various notices taped to them; are they likely to be removed soon?

The official PA announcement is that they're being 'refurbished'...this did happen last year as well, so perhaps they're not for the chop just yet.

Reference my post of 20/7.10 at 16.47, I have found the MR WTT for May 1920 and the evening peak Ruislip reverser departed empty from the Down platform to the 'Up' line to Ruislip Manor and picked up passengers from there. I assume therefore it didn't use the crossover west of the station.
