Hi Guys, i am currently having a argument with a friend of mine about two things really and i hope you could give me some answers: Question 1: Is it true that an A stock train runs over the north curve at watford once in the morning and again in the evening? In the morning departs chesham at 05.19 and arrives at watford at 05.45. In the evening departs watford at 00.50 and arrives at rickmansworth at 00.58. Question 2: Is it true that 8 car A stock trains run to chesham? Hope you could give me some answers and prove someone wrong Thanks

I think Question 1 is yes, roughly on times. Question 2 is also yes. First train of the morning (8) comes out of ricky and goes to chesham. Then from chesham to the baker street. Then 4 car unit is already on its way fro neasden. This then becomes the 4 car shuttle service for the day. Peak time,Two 8 car trains come from london and goto chesham. Even peak, another 2 8 car trains from london to chesham Last train leaves baker at 0023, arrives chesham at 0110. Then runs empty to depot. so thats 6 8 car units to chesham per day. from 11 december 2010, 3 tph will be ran to chesham (8 car) a day hope this helps!

The answer to your second question is definitly yes. The through trains from central London are all 8 cars, its only the shuttle that is shorter.

The journey planner for tomorrow morning shows three direct trains from Ricky to Watford, at 0537, 0554 and 0604, and two back again in the late evening at 0021 and 0038. I believe this is the normal schedule. It is one reason people taking the Tube Challenge tend to start of finish in the far NW, as taking the north curve saves some time (specifically, not having to double back to Moor Park)
With the exception of the Chesham shuttle, all Met services are eight-car - this includes the through services off the Chesham branch.

A nice little town to visit if you are in the area. For fans of Metropolitan Railway architecture the station building is a gem.

Watfd 1950 empty, 0050, 0059 emptyWith the various S Stock test paths interspersed.

Happy with all of the above. If you are out on the Met on a Sunday night, you may see the Chesham shuttle running from Chesham to Wembley Park. This is one of the few times where a 4 car train will run on the mainline. Always nice to see....

And if you get up early weekdays ISTR you can ride it north in service from Harrow in service, or has that changed in the current timetable?

Was just checking the timetables for Watford underground station and there are 3 trains after 23:00 to Harrow on the Hill. Specifically, these are the 23:33, 23:53 and 00:15. If these are headed to the Neasden depot, they should terminate at Wembley Park. Does anyone know why they terminate at Harrow on the Hill instead? Just curious...

The 3 trains you mention all go into Wembley Park pfm6 and reverse into Wembley Park sidings. I'm not sure of the reason for the Harrow tip-out

I doubt there are the staff to do the tipping out on platform 6. At Harrow, the island platform is more useful for interchange.

That's exactly the reason. There are other tip-outs at Wembley Park platform 5.

For fans of Metropolitan Railway architecture the station building is a gem. dude, Chesham is a s**t hole.. lots of druggies and yoofs A fairly damning indictment of a small town that suffers from the same problems as most others. It's main problem is that it sits in the shadow of it's very affluent neighbours of The Chalfonts, Berkhampsted and Chesham Bois. At least it has some character unlike Amersham On The Hill
