I would be a nice change if it came back, with all its shoe gear for once......

I saw the S Stock train today at Neasden . At the time I was on a Met train and got off at Wembley Park thinking if I took the Jubilee back to Neasden I would get a proper look at it. However half way on the way back to Neasden the S Stock was moving towards Wembley Park, so I was unable to see it again.

Just saw one of the S stock trains at Harrow on the Hill southbound platform this evening. Got the impression that it was struggling to go forward. It was nice to get a close look at it though.

It seems in those photos that the carriage floors are more level with the platforms than the A stock, which would be good. Accessibility from platform to train is a real sticking point, particularly for platforms visited by both regular sized trains and deep level tube trains.

What colour are the bars on the train? Yellow?
When the S-Stock is on all the Sub Surface lines, will the bars be different colours for each line?

No, the DDA regs mean that yellow is the most appropriate colour for the grab rails. Bye bye purple...

No, the DDA regs mean that yellow is the most appropriate colour for the grab rails. Bye bye purple... Actually, I remember one of the technical people saying at the 09 stock preview that the DDA didn't specify yellow, just that the colour had to contrast with its surroundings. Which is why the 09 stock can have corporate blue poles and the refurbed D78s can have District Line green poles. Any one of LU's corporate colours that contrasted sufficiently would therefore have been acceptable. The most logical choices therefore being yellow (Circle), pink (H&C), green (District), maroon/purple (Met) and dark blue (corporate blue and coincidentally also Piccadilly Line blue). I'm a little surprised that the S8 poles aren't coloured for the Met Line, but perhaps the decision to go with a single colour was taken before the decision regarding the different seating layout on the S8s?

Accessibility from platform to train is a real sticking point, particularly for platforms visited by both regular sized trains and deep level tube trains. Much of the problem in my opinion is access to the platforms in the first place. There are very few step free platforms on the network. I saw 'the train' at Northwood siding only 10 mins ago. It was waiting to head north. Set number 546
