Hi all,
Noticed that Plaistow have no Rail Replacement Buses this weekend is there a reason.
Also how does it work that trains run in Service westbound from Upney but cant run in service eastbound?
Thanks
Dan

Thanks Dan When they run eastbound, I'm assuming they have to run through Barking sidings, which is not a passenger move. Westbound is via the main line, hence it's OK. Not sure about the Plaistow buses.

Yes, the trains do run through Barking sidings to get from Barking westbound to Upney eastbound.
It is possible to take a train from Barking westbound into the sidings, change ends and come out into Barking eastbound, then change ends again to depart eastbound.
Maybe this is not done because it is too complicated and time consuming, or maybe the link to the Gospel Oak line is being used.

Thanks Dan West Ham had no Rail Replacement Buses for District Line closure also. But the Jubilee Line was running Stratford to Stanmore on one of the few weekends this years when it did not have a closure ;D Back on topic, Plastow has very good Bus routes to all parts of east London you just have to know how find out how to navigate around this part of London ;D

Then there is the 69 also along the same route to Stratford then on to Walthamstow. All I was saying was passengers using pay as you go would have been out of pocket! At least at West Ham they had the Jub Line - C2C.

Current policy on rail replacement buses is to deflect to other operational rail routes where possible and to make use of existing bus services where surplus capacity exists.
West Ham was served by C2C services from the East and Jubilee Line from the west. In addition rail buses from the west operate to Canning Town for connection with Jubilee Line one stop to West Ham or route 69 to Plaistow. Buses from Mile End and Barking also called at Stratford for connection with multiple routes to Plaistow and route 276 to West Ham.
LUL tickets are valid for travel on these designated alternative routings.
No doubt some local journies can be a touch more complex with this policy, I guess the circuitious routing needed to serve all the stops in the same order the trains do makes through journies unreasonably long, so the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few!
