Although I can't thank the Met line for the 30 min delay to my commute and confusion at HOTH, I was impressed with the driver of my train for apologising and explaining clearly what was going on, including some technical information which may have been lost on some people, but which I found interesting! I know some people do nothing but moan at TFL for the level of information given, so I thought I'd give praise where it's due!

I actually experienced something similar a year ago and fedback on the online form. I got an email asking for further info (train/car no) and after I gave that I got a nice personal email saying my comments would be passed onto his manager and also it was nice to receive a positive comment as they're rare!!!

I do have to agree that the information being fed out to the train I was on this morning were also really useful... but the previous time I ended up delayed on the Met line, the announcements were also first class and informative.

To those interested, the problems were caused by a negative earth at Finchley Road.

To those interested, the problems were caused by a negative earth at Finchley Road. Quite the opposite - literally. It was a positive earth close to Finchley Road. Throughout the day - right up until around 1415 when the fault was cleared - various trains were required to be removed from service at either Harrow or Wembley, in order that track searches could be made in the area suspected to contain the fault. Various isolations were also carried out to try and pinpoint the fault - in the end found to be a High Tension cable which had come into contact with, and then welded itself to the positive current rail.
