Don't know whether this belongs here or under the Met Line, but here goes:
Can anyone please help with a date that the Met. track was "doubled" between Baker Street and Swiss Cottage. I am harzarding a guess around c.1872?
Many thanks.

Later than that, I think.
I've seen a notice where the pilotmen changed from having red and blue hats to red and blue belts in about 1874.

According to the Metropolitan Line book by Mike Horne, it is July 1882 that south of Swiss Cottage was doubled.

Alan Jackson's Book 'London's Metropolitan Railway' states that the doubling of the line was completed on 10th July 1882
