Is there really a service running on Monday form Harrow on the Hill to Northwood? From looking at the engineering works email, there appears to be but this seems slightly strange to me that there'd be trains running for that short space of track...

Seemed a bit silly to me too, it must be more cost efficient to just use buses.

From what I can recall (and I'm nowhere near work at present - and won't be for some time ;D ) the service is also running south of Harrow. Cannot recall seeing anything about a Harrow-Northwood service, which would, as has been said, be pretty pointless.

Bank Holiday Monday 31st May, the Met line is not running from Harrow-on-the-Hill to Aldgate. Jubilee Line not running from Stanmore to Stratford. The Met service can only run Harrow to Northwood and Harrow to Uxbridge.

The Met service can only run Harrow to Northwood and Harrow to Uxbridge. Thought it was running Harrow - Amersham / Chesham, just not to Watford?

Having logged-in remotely to my work information, it appears I have been left out of the loop with regards to a late-notice change in the published works (not really a problem as I said as I am not there). I had the Mets running normally south of Harrow, even calling additionally at Willesden Green. No doubt some sort of issue with the Jubilee Line works has caused a full closure. But, it appears the Met is only running Harrow-Northwood/Uxbridge. Good luck to those working it / having to use it. I will be at an opposite end of the country by then ;D

i'd hate to be a harrow cabin running up and down the frame signalling the harrow area trains then shifting along to deal with the northwood reversers, actually what am i on about, recently i've become a keep fit nut, i'd have enough levels of stamina and craziness to see it through but i'm on leave, howver i can see a controversy with certain certain cabin paperwork through my crystal ball

Why is the Met suspended tonight between Watford and Northwood after 2130? Seems odd to stop the services on a Friday night.

yes and yes. Possessions being put in place.
The HOH to ALD closure is indeed due to TBTC related work on the Jubilee line.
I do pity the Signaller who will be on the frame at HOH. I understand there'll be two on duty on both the early and late shifts.
HOH to UXB and HOH to NWD only - reversing off NWD platform by the look of the Monday timetable.

Hello to everybody,
I'm coming to-morrow to visit my daughter via Eurostar, and going back on Monday. She lives close to Finchley Road station.
According to TfL webite, no closure appear this week-end south of Harrow, neither on the Met, nor on the Jubilee line.
But what I read in this thread worries me a lot! Help, please: will Metropolitan trains be running tomorrow and on monday between KX St. Pancras and Finchley Rd?

According to the journey planner, Metropolitan Line trains are running between Kings Cross and Finchley Road on Sunday, but not on Monday. The recommended route on Monday is to take replacement bus service D between Finchley Road and Baker Street, and the Circle Line between there and Kings Cross.

Thank you, Chris, for this comprehensive answer. I've found the proper button to click in TfL website to get the relevant info for Monday.

West Hampstead is only about ten minutes walk from Finchley Road, and Thameslink is running all weekend as far as St Pancras. (4tph, taking 9-13 minutes) Well Chiltern are running between Marylebone & Harrow, so there is at least some point to it.... Not according to their website: no service south of Great Missenden

Next question: are Oysters without a travel card (simply working pay as you go) accepted on this line ? Yes. See www.nationalrail.co.uk/times_fares/oyster_map.pdf for a map. That's the simplest map I can find - everything in red, blue or green on that map now accepts Oyster PAYG. That map pre-dates the reopening of the East London Line so it is not shown, but PAYG can be used everywhere on that line. TfL do do a version, but it is (imho) far less clear.

Thank you, Chris. Things are quite clear now !
I do agree with you, TfL version of the map is far less clear !
So, we'll travel Metropolitan tomorrow and Thameslink on Monday.

Not according to their website: no service south of Great Missenden Their website does indeed say that but at the bottom of the very same page I found this link which does indeed show that a Marylebone - Harrow shuttle is operating.

Why is the Met suspended tonight between Watford and Northwood after 2130? Seems odd to stop the services on a Friday night. Its all about time. As things stand now, the southbound slow from north of Croxley, right into the station and round into the triangle is lifted. All track, ballast, gone, new ballast going down right now, thought the station and up to Winton approach road Bridge. That leaves all of tonight, Monday, plus Monday night to lay the track, re- instate, hand over etc etc. Loads of work left, class 66's everywhere. HAPPY DAYS. ;D

Things went well, Thameslink train in time and Eurostar caught without any problem! Thanks to everybody! Simply one question: when getting in the station at West hampstead thameslink, we "topped in", but when arriving in St. Pancras surface station, we were directed out via staff and ribbon-barriers and did not go through nor close to any Oyster machine. We were too busy thinking of our Eurostar to ask this question: we have topped in, but not out, how many Guineas will be deducted from our cards ?
