Hi. On the old Thameslink east of Farringdon station between Farringdon and Barbican they are making what looks like the beginning of a new ramp. Will this ramp be used for vehicle movements and for work issues etc? Also are they using the area just before start of the ramp for a ventilation shaft of some sort? And what will happen to the area (old tracks) between Farringdon and Moorgate station? It was mentioned this area will be used for the new S stock circle line trains sidings but weather this is just rumor or not I dont know.

Its a ramp for access to move materials for the building but Im sure Ive read somewhere there's a problem with it and they stopped work on it. The area around it is something to do with the concourse below. Can't remember completely tho.

The Farringdon-Moorgate FCC branch was withdrawn to allow for the platforms at Farringdon to be lengthened for 12-car trains

I think he means more Barbican - Moorgate. Personally I'd like to see NR hand it over to LU. Even if its just used for stabling train its gotta to be a better use of already built intrastructure than letting it rot.
One school of thought is if the DLR does an extension to Barican via Moorgate then then former trackbed is like to be reused for access to the underground DLR station.

Don't LU own the trackbed anyway? With British Rail only leasing it when they reopened to Moorgate in the 80s.

Why don't they just do a swap? Network Rail owns plenty of track that LU uses.
