Travelling through New Cross Gate on a southern service the other day, I noticed the old LU-era DMI for the London Overground East London Line platform is still there. Does anyone know if it still shows train information when the ELL is running? Also, will they eventually repalce it with an LO-style DMI?

I'm surprised they haven't been installed at either NX station. The stations south of NXG are still using Connex DMI's!

I've amended my title and opening post accordingly. The old connex DMIs aren't so different to the info displayed on the LO ones (next three trains plus stops the first one will call at, current time, scheduled and "expected" time to arrival etc), but the LU one would be a real anachronism were it to remain and be in use on the LO ELL!

I wonder if LOROL don't install a DOI on platform 1 in time for the extension on May 23rd if the Connex DOI between Platform 1 & 2 can be adapted to show LO services as well?
Incidentally, I believe East Croydon will be responsible for LOROL station DOI's and announcements from NXG southwards until 2011.

I note that New Cross also still has a (non-functioning) LUL-era DMI and neither of the New Cross stations have, at the moment, any actual functioning DMIs for the LO services. This is rather frustrating, I have to say, and do I hope they sort it out.

Perhaps they figure people will just cope until the phase 3 refurb starting in July/August. I suppose they could just post a paper timetable on a board until then.

It works on the H&C west of Paddington, where poster timetables and station annoucements are used. I suspect from Brockley to West Croydon, the current DOI's will be used in addition for LO destinations until the refurbishment programme is complete.

Popped into NXG this afternoon, the DOI only shows Southern services, with no announcements for ELL destinations southbound from Platform 1.
Platform 5's DOI displays both Southern and LOROL services.

At West Croydon this morning all LO trains were initially being advertised as departing from the bay platform 1, as each approached, the system gave the platform alteration message/alert sound telling passengers that it'd actually be departing from the through platforms..
The services do appear on the existing DMIs at the stations I was paying attention to on the ex-Southern section of the line.

I caught the 07:54 from New Cross Gate to Canada Water yesterday, the CIS on platform 5 showed the train calling at "Farringdon, Canada Water, Rotherhithe, Rotherhithe" and then all the correct stations. One very confused looking guy off and then back on at Surrey Quays - I don't know if he expected London Bridge or Farringdon but SQ didn't seem to impress him!
