The TfL live web info suggests Districts are reversing at Hammersmith.. can anyone clarify ?
Suspended between Embankment and Hammersmith and between Earl's Court and Parson's Green due to a signalling problem at Gloucester Road.

One possible scenario:
The District service is being diverted down the 'fast' lines east of Acton, to reverse in the center reversing siding east of Hammersmith, while the Piccadilly service is being diverted down the 'local' (and possibly stopping at all stations) before being returned to the center pair of tracks east of Hammersmith.

Hmm, interesting. That won't be possible with S stock unless the enabling works scope is increased to provide the CSDE/SDO and in-cab OPO CCTV etc needed for S stock on to the normally Piccadilly line roads. Then again, if the Piccadilly line is resignalled with a different scheme like Jubilee and Northern are getting, the Districts won't be able to use the Picc tracks. Losing some useful flexibility here. |

Well, if the Piccadilly line is resignalled with a different system and Districts won't be able to use the Picc tracks I don't know what is supposed to happen at Ealing Common!

There would be both systems on Acton Town to Hangar Lane Junction. The four track section Acton to Hammersmith could be fully segregated like the Jubilee and Met are being made Finchley Road to Wembley Park except for the Neasden depot routes. |
