There will be an open day on the 12-13th March with access to the tunnels.
Phone the LT Museum on 020 7565 7298 to book tickets.

I predict a sudden abandonment of the forum Acton meet that weekend!

Nothing on the LT Museum website... I'd be surprised that during an Acton Museum open weekend, the museum would arrange something that would compete with itself... What tunnels & where

I think I'd rather remain in a pub in Acton than sniff the essence of Old Father Thames!

"There was a problem with your order. The system has encountered an error in confirming the items you have attempted to purchase. As it is highly likely that your card has been charged, please contact the Box Office immediately."
Brilliant!

I too encountered that error, and just too late for the box office to be open. Yet the person booking tickets sat beside me, using the same internet connection, about 1.5 minutes later had no problems at all.
I've left a message on the booking office answerphone, will see what they have to say for themselves in the morning.

I wonder if the Museum will plan a similar outing for the Aldwych tunnels?!?

When I phoned the box office, I was told to arrive 15 minutes early and that was to the entrance to somewhere. But where? (I forgot!) Anyone with the better memory?

I assumed ticket collection would be from the Brunel Museum. (Must check again, if I can find the page again; do you meet there, or at Rotherhithe station, or...?)
I phoned this morning to check, and was told they've been posting all tickets out, regardless of what ticket-collection option they ticked. So tickets should be appearing in the post. Otherwise, ticket collection would be from Covent Garden.
It's all been a bit of a disorganised mess...

The orders we made cocked up and we've had 5 tickets emailed to us already, and the remaining 3 tickets should be being posted (you can only order a maximum of 5 tickets at once, and trying to order the other three for our party of 8 fell foul of the anti-tout detection).

Got my tickets this morning for 1430 on Friday. They said to arrive at Rotherhithe Station 15mins before the tour starts. According the @ltmuseum Twitter, the tickets are all now sold out, so I must've had one of the last few.

The instructions for those attending are, in a nutshell:
a.. Assemble at Rotherhithe Station 15 mins before the tour for registration & H&S induction. (3:15) b.. Tunnels are dirty, don't wear your best frock. They supply gloves to protect from Weil's disease etc. c.. Wear sturdy shoes, people wearing trainers, sandals or high heels wont be allowed in. d.. Be prepared to walk for 2 miles. e.. Don't turn up pi$$ed!

Still no tickets for me (for Friday 1600 and Saturday 1130)... Weil's disease? I'm truly scared now! Also, 2 miles? According to Google Maps even if we will go from Rotherhithe to Wapping and back it will be less than a mile!

My ticket for Friday arrived in the post today.
Sounds like I'm going to have to do a quick change from office clothes to tunnel rat clothes and back to work clothes!
I'm just glad my employer has a flexible working policy that allows me to sneak off for 3 hours in an afternoon. (Not that they can complain given I have to work Saturday morning instead of driving trains at Acton!)

please take lots of good pics... I've just too many things on to get there... Don't worry It'll be 3 days of railway photography for me... I've taken 216 today traveling back and forth to Manchester. I nearly ended up taking a photo of Jack Straw getting onto Pendalino 390 001 very early this morning at Euston (he was on the same train as me, but then given the fact that Police were everywhere I thought better of it : . Tomorrow it'll be the Thames Tunnel (yes my tickets have arrived - batteries being recharged & low light lenses being packed tonight) and on Saturday the Acton Museum & meet I'll probably end up with RSI on Sunday ;D ;D ;D

Chris W have you got enough room on your camera to save the pictures of the tunnel for the Saturday meet? Would be nice to review a few in the RLAP if you could.
