HI All
Not sure if anyone here can influence this (any LU staff members here?) but when the jubilee line is closed and the buses run can it not be amended so that some of the buses drive to nearby stations on the other lines?
E.g. willesden green, line closed and replacement buses drive along the whole line to baker street. it takes forever! Would it not make more sense to send a bus to queens park which is a 5 min drive away so people can use the bakerloo? could also do the same for kilburn/hampstead stations. WOuld be quicker for punters than having to sit on bus all the way to baker street...

are there any regular buses that connect these stations? If so then advertising these as alternatives to the rail replacement bus services (rrbs) would be better than running specifc extra buses. Ticket acceptance can be arranged at short notice for unplanned disruption so organising it in advance shouldn't present a problem. The rrbs running the length of the line will still be needed to cover journeys between closed stations (e.g. Willesden Green to Swiss Cottage)

They often do call at stations on nearby lines -for instance during the Central Line closure west of Marble Arch this weekend he replacement bus serviecs are as follows:
Service A: between Willesden Junction, North Acton, Park Royal, Hanger Lane, Perivale and Greenford, Northolt.
Service B: between Willesden Junction, North Acton, Northolt, South Ruislip and Ruislip Gardens, West Ruislip.
Service C: Shepherds Bush, White City, East Acton, North Acton and West Acton, Ealing Broadway.
Thius passengers from beyond Nortn Acton can reach a tube line at Willesden, instead of having to use buses all the way to White City (for Wood Lane).
Presumably between Shepherds Bush and Marble Arch you are expected to use ordinary service buses.

Is this the first time they have had Central Line replacement buses at Willesden Junction?

Don't know, but I've noticed similar arrangements elsewhere
(Note also the Park Royal stop on service A)

Oh, and this does happen to some degree on the Jubilee, for example when both Met and ub are suspended the bus from Stanmore to Wembley Park goes on to Stonebridge Park for the Bakerloo line. An unusual one was tried a few weeks ago when the Chesham bus went from Ricky to Ruislip and West Ruislip rather than all the way to Wembley Park.

I remember that particular service being advertised. Presumably it went up Ruislip High Street, Bury Street, Ducks Hill Road and London Road?
Got a feeling though that there is another element to such a service being tried. LBH has been pushing TfL for an 'express' bus service from north of the borough down to Heathrow; these being some of the roads that will be served.

TBH, looking at the evoution of certain elements of the Extended Circle and all the branding of the experiment under the 'WTT 8' banner I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised; what would surprise me is that the TTO would get involved in such things - perhaps this is a commendable example of 'joined-up thinking' between departments on the execution/delivery/planning and all other sorts of hot air. I do make rough notes on RRBS services in my database-of-much-confusion, but it isn't as easily searchable as other parts of the database. I'll have to have a look at that one in due course.

From personal experience many people find a replacement bus service that doesn't follow the tube line to be a tad confusing. The number of people who need convincing to go to Stonebridge Park for the replacement bus service to Wembley Park rather than sit on a bus all the way from Baker Street is surprisingly high. In fact if I had a £ for each one, I could avoid those lovely weekend closures
