Last week at Liverpool Street leaflets were being handed out describing works that will commence in the area starting from March 2010 (next month) until 2016. The highlights include: - The green park that is Finsbury Circus (that contains the only bowling green in central London) will be cordoned off and excavated - may be an interesting project as the Circle/Met/H&C lines are routed under here too
- In 2011 a building in Blomfield Street is to be demolished (is currently already boarded up) - this will be one of the Liverpool Street eastern entrances/exists
- A whole block of buildings are to be demolished in the Moorgate area
I have located an online document produced by Gerald Eve LLP called Making Crossrail Work for You that contains a lot of useful info. Also have a look at this New Civil Engineer report. I need to get some photos of the area before works begin

I need to get some photos of the area before works begin There is another bowling green at Finsbury Square just along Moorgate Not to mention the large green space (includes a full size rugby pitch IIRC), known as Bunhill Fields. It is bounded by City Road, Chiswell Street and Bunhill Row, but because of surrounding buildings ,can only be seen through the entrance to the military organisation, The Honorable Artillery Company (The Beefeaters home base for the Tower Of London), and an alleyway on the north side of Chiswell Street alongside the PC World shop. This open area is sometimes used to land helicopters, and aircraft up to Chinook size have been known to set down here!
