According to London Connections the upgrade of the jubilee line will go on until 3RD OCTOBER!!! londonreconnections.blogspot.com/I thought it was meant to be done by the end of last year. What's gone wrong and who the devil is to blame and how can this be avoided for the Northern Line? JC

I hope I'm reading that Blogspot wrongly, but I can't see anything that definitely states that closures will *ONLY* go up to 3rd October and not beyond.

The only way to avoid this fiasco during the upgrade of the Northern Line is to cancel the upgrade :-)
And I'm sure Tube Lines won't be able to finish upgrade of the Jubilee in 2010. Mark my words.

There's a post somewhere from about a year and a half ago where I said that I'd give someone my house if the Northern Line upgrade was finished by 2011. Wasn't a risky deal really, was it!?

Peter Hendy was on LBC Radio this morning. He said that he HOPED the Jubilee upgrade was completed by 2012.
I couldn't quite believe it myself!

Are you sure he was just talking about the Jubilee? I wasn't listening that carefully, but I thought he was talking about both the Jubilee and the Northern

Heard the quote again this evening, and I can confirm that Peter Hendy was "pretty sure" that Jubilee would be completed by 2012 along with the new Vic trains.
Northern is very delayed and work will stop during the Olympics.

Well I guess thats another year of swiss cottage looking like a ghost town and no kidding, people are so used to closures the place is desolate on weekends reguardless of weather the jubilee line is working or not. what really takes the mick is that alternative routes like london overground and the met are also shut at the same time.

Spare a thought for those living near Canada Water trying to go to Canary Wharf - no Jubilee or ELL, or replacement bus service. Only the VERY expensive Thames Clippers.
