Circle and Dis been shut down for hours now through NHG.. anyone know whats going on there? Emergency Engineering work, started out as a signal failure. Guess its a pretty big failure... might as well not bother re-instating the Circle if it goes on much longer

I would imagine that whoever put the information up doesn't fully appreciate the different services offered in that area - that is they've been told the Edgware Road Wimbledon service has been partially suspended to Edgware Road and they've taken that to mean from Earls Court, perhaps not realising that High Street Kensington is a reversing point, and that the Olympia service is still running.
EDIT: it's now saying High Street Kensington to Edgware Road! ;D ;D

Haven't they had problems with drains in that area? A lot of rain overnight.
In fact the entire northern part of the Circle Line is becoming affected by water ingress (well the North West part of it anyway).

Is it as bad as this? WS, Youtube video of the Madrid Metro; the bit near the end when the advertising hoarding floats off down the corridor is slightly alarming. ;D

Apparently now I am hearing 200m of track falling into the four foot at NHG. . . . maybe caused by flooding into the tunnel as Stig said.
The flooding is awful on the SSR, anyone remember Tower Hill - Mansion Hse WB... that was so bad you had to put the windscreen wipers on when going through that section, they only recently fixed it after months of flooding there!

Alarming? that's one way of putting it! ;D ;D
Anyway, yes, wet beds are a problem in the Notting Hill Gate / High Street Ken area (and I have personally seen water running through there up to rail height). Usually though, wet beds are unlikely to cause much more than a temporary speed restriction.
EDIT: Happybunny posted whilst was typing - if the wet beds are that bad, it is possible that enough voids have been created thus affecting track alignment......but that would be a serious case of poor maintenance if things have reached that stage.

As I understand it, the positive rail north/east of NHG on the outer rail had practically fallen away after being continuously struck by the shoes of passing trains. They had, over time, prised the positive up and quite a number of porcelain pots were smashed. This is what caused the original signal failure about 0840 this morning (shorting out the signal circuits) and the extent of the damage was discovered on closer inspection. Service started running through again just after 1300.
There were, apparently, 9 or 10 missing shoes found in the area and loads missing on trains checked in Hammersmith depot - one with a split shoe-beam into the bargain.

Going a bit off topic here, but if there is a person under a train at Euston Square, the Met is suspended Baker Street - Aldgate, and the Circle Line is suspended - aren't there going to be severe delays on the H&C?

The H&C is suspended between Edgware Road and Moorgate. The TfL website wasn't updated for a while though.

Prakash, when you say there were 9-10 missing shoes, do you mean the shoe gears that pick up the electricity from the third rail?
