Train seemed in perfect working order when I photted it at Rayners Lane yesterday. As a return path (for some or all of the train anyway) is also booked for next week, I can only assume it is for some kind of modification or upgrade not possible at Stonebridge Park OR to establish and prove the capability of the run for future use?

Not at all unusual to see them in Ealing Common.
Probably there for brake testing on the test track; from time to time most stocks appear in the Common; in fact I can't think of a current stock I've not seen in there.

Well, almost! It got sent into platform 6 at Wembley Park, and after sitting there for sometime, shuffled off via Neasden Depot Klondyke sidings before accessing the Jubbly rather further south than was the original intention. It stopped short of the platform at baker Street whilst they looked for the points switch to the Bakerloo, and gave it a clear road through. The signal on the platform at Baker Street went from clear (with feathers) to red before the second door set on the lead car had passed!

Just noticed that one of the cars is a 72 MkI car. You can tell by the painted over 'M' door set number box.

It's very difficult to get a train into Baker Street with the route set one way and then to try and get a release. From memory it involves shutting the train down and using the T/Op's key to operate a switch on the platform which starts the release off. There is also a very short distance beyond the signal to the tips of the points, which was shortened as part of the Jubilee 7 car works such that the replacing distance on BM2 is virtually nil!

I thought I was seeing things! I was passing Preston Road when I turned round and saw what I thought was the tail end of a 72 going off into the distance.....I only had a split second to see it. Thank heavens for this forum, as I thought my imagination was being a bit too overactive!

And Tom how interesting! Never realised such quirks existed on how to get a release!

Which apart from the vehicle number is identical to the rest of the fleet!

Which apart from the vehicle number is identical to the rest of the fleet! Possibly the only give-away being the former set number box in the 'M' door.

I was going to say that!
The other difference is the weight, but that's not noticable to the eye! ;D
