Hola,
Just a quickie.. On the radio the other morning (perhaps yesterday, can't remember) it was announced that Central Line trains would not be stopping at Grange Hill Westbound.
It confused me a bit. As I find it hard to understand which way is westbound on loop stations; particularly Grange Hill where trains go round to Woodford (which is technically West) as well as round to Hainault and then onto London (which is west also).
Maybe I am being thick - but I'd appreciate someone who's 'in the know' helping me out. ;D

The Loop starts from Leytonstone and ends at Roding Valley. When a train is running in a eastbound direction from Central London and departs Leytonstone to say Hainault via Newbury Park, it is running on the inner rail. When it is running back towards central London or in a westbound direction to Ealing Broadway or West Ruislip, it is running on the outer rail.
With regards to trains booked to reverse at Woodford, once a train departs Roding Valley going towards Woodford it leaves the inner rail and is now traveling on the westbound. Once the same train has reversed at Woodford and is running back towards Hainault it is an eastbound train until it arrives at Roding Valley where it becomes known as an outer rail train, and will do until it arrives at Leytonstone.
I hope I have explained it clearly as I may of confused myself. If you really want to be confused have a look at a working timetable at booked Woodford via Hainault trains, it will blow your socks off.
