Does anybody know if there will be a replacement bus service for the Metropolitan Line between Chesham/Amersham and Rickmansworth on boxing day?
There's no mention of a replacement service on the TfL website or in the Christmas travel information leaflet, and the journey planner cannot find a route for a journey from Amersham or Chesham to Rickmansworth that day.

There's no service at all - it's shut because it's Boxing Day, rather than for engineering works. I think this has been the case for many years now - possibly since the 80s or earlier when Christmas Day had a service. In general Boxing Day services are a lot better now than they were 20 years ago, when quite a lot of parts of lines were closed, and 2 or 3 stations in a row might be closed even if that part of a line was open. Maybe there's hope for the outer reaches of the Met universe next year!

From memory, this Xmas the Met is fully open and not affected by any scheduled engineering work, so no Rail replacemnt Buses will be needed (for once!). However, as in previous years, the Met is shut north of Rickmansworth on Boxing Day, plus between Moor Park and Watford. Train services will run between Rickmansworth/Uxbridge and Baker St only. Nothing to do with E/W, just the norm for the 26th Dec.
