Hi, any of you drivers been double ending the olympias? instead of the stepping back, was talking to the timetable guys the other day, and it was there original plan to double end the service! L Earl's Court and Acton crews have the only rostered turns that do stepping back (Upminster and Barking only do off peak Olympias). I believe the objections to double ending was that the rear cab's fan heater (or air con) doesn't work without the cab open as the guards position switches are blanked off (most relevant with temperature's like todays !).

I hear that yesterday morning wasn't too good, with the train running around 10 late because of the usual hold-ups, then with only 4min turn-arounds at Olympia it didn't get any better. A decision was made to lay the train over twice at High Street for it's next trip, subjecting the poor residents of Olympia to 2 unscheduled 40min gaps!
