This weekend sees a rare service on the Met,a F/Rd-Uxb shuttle.I assume the trains will be reversing via Swiss Cottage disused station seeing as the Jubbly is running to W/Hampstead.

What work is taking place this weekend on the Met, must be something between Finchley Road and Baker Street, as the Circle and H&C are running normally.

I haven't got my hands on a timetable as yet (although I really should as I am working Saturday ) but as far as I have heard, we are running an Uxbridge-Finchley Road / Swiss Cottage service on the Met. As far as I am also aware, it is for signalling work between Baker Street and Swiss Cottage, and some localised point maintenance at Baker Street station. If I'm wrong, I'll update on Friday, or the colleague I am working alongside will in the meantime ;D

It will be a standard 10min service I presume. How will the signalling work? Can a train be reversing in Swiss Cottage while a service detrains at Finchley Road or will this fall within the overlap?

Swiss Cottage is a fair distance away from Finchley Road, so I suspect that overlaps are not the issue.
A train berthed at the shunt signal on the s/b line would be well beyond Finchley Road s/b anyway, so I would be surprised if the signalling prevented a train from being drawn into the s/b platform while a train was shunting at Swiss Cottage.

AIUI the maximum overlap/control length required for MD 5 (Finchley Road home) only ends about 50 feet from the former platforms at Swiss Cottage.

Was that when Bakerloos ex-Stanmore were diverted to the Met platforms at Baker St while the Bakerloo platforms were being rennovated for the coming of the Jubilee?

Well, I have just browsed a timetable and indeed trains are reversing at Swiss Cottage. Times look rather tight though, a NB train leaving SC just two minutes before the next SB train is due. Also the train descriptions are shown as BK8/BK9, the normal TD from Uxbridge. Sorry Met Control, I know you're the man of the knowledge but I posted as I know how the members like to know what's happening as soon as they can ;D

Can a train be reversing in Swiss Cottage while a service detrains at Finchley Road or will this fall within the overlap? Yes All southbound signals at Finchley Road, including the station starter MD6, can be cleared with a train reversing at Swiss Cottage. However if a train departs Ficnhley Road and is held at ML1 waiting for the train ahead to reverse, then a following train cannot gain the platform at Finchley Road.

I wonder if any t/ops can get a few photos of Swiss Cottage whilst changing ends. There aren't many pics of the Swiss Cottage.

Is "Finchley Road" already included on the A-stock blinds?

Possibly; theres a destination blind list on tubeprunes site, but the list given for A stock is for 1990-98. I'm fairly certain the blind has more entries now.

S stock certainly can have Finchley Road as destination. Ready for a later case of this working and many, many others.
