is it shell as in crustacean? ie- Kings Cross Station - Kings Crustacean? or Charing Crustacean? or even New Crustacean?
Stretching it a bit I imagine...
How about Bank?

I'm wondering if 1 is somehow related to Oyster cards but I can't work out how this would fit a single station

I gave up with Baker Street as couple of days ago...I got the 'elementary' suggestion but seem to think it was supposed to be a District station. Duh! Got the two cryptic muxed-ip!
There are various referencs to be had between Sherlock Holmes and shells. Other than that I have no idea still what the connection is. Unless it's to do with pastry shells!

To be fair, the shell part of the clue refers to a physical object on Baker Street station
