As is normal for me at the moment when the first train out of Colindale is a Charing Cross branch, I was at Embankment this morning at about 07:05.
Severe delays were reported due to a signalling problem at Earls Court.
From the eastbound platform, I witnessed a reverse on the westbound - first time I've seen this, although I knew it was possible. How often does this move get used?
I note that the move is "running" signalled. Is it ever used with passengers on? (engineering work, perhaps?)
Also, what was it that happened at ECT? (as long as it's not too "secret".)

Signalling problem, you answered it yourself. Is that all we can know or is there a bit more to it?

Signaling probs Earls Court to South Ken (Track failure)
And yes you can take passengers east from Embankment westbound platform and we have done on a couple of occasions because of engineering work.

It's quite a rare move. In my 6 years on the District, I've done it twice, once with a defective train (only slow speed available at the west end cab, but full speed from the east end) and once in service when the timetable was completely out of the window due to signalling problems.
