As my wallet isn't the biggest one, and I cant afford O scale (and if I bought it, I would propably mix it up with my HO), I decided to give Lego a shot. I have already made some kind of DM (x2!) in my Legos, but found out some trailers would be good aswell, so I downloaded the Lego Digital Designer (LDD) from lego's home page. I wanted ateast one more set of doors on the trailer than what I got on my DMs, so I ended up with four sets of single-leaf doors (each leaf is 3 knobs wide) on each side, as opposed to two double-leaf doors on my DM. The rear-end M door (what's it called?) is included aswell, and a Calling on light is installed in the top of the cab. Marking lights is in the non-cab end of the DM and in both ends of the Trailers. The doors are inspired by 1992ts, the train itself is mostly based on the C stock, and as the rear-end doors are easy to remove, it is also like the S stock. Enough nonsense, here they are if these links works trailer: shop.lego.com/Product/factory/product.aspx?p=LFH002&mid=7e2cdbf4-810d-462b-9cb7-9b466108304cdm: shop.lego.com/Product/factory/product.aspx?p=LFH002&mid=c830e5dc-4174-44e3-bd4f-e7fb10ae3129Edit: There are indeed some issues which need fixing, post will be updated when that's done

Very nice. They're not cheap are they. You could buy 00 gauge kits for that price!

I have no idea what currency shows up at your pc, but at mine, the DM (or actually its a driving non-motor - TD?) turns up at 514 and a half NOK, about £51.
And you have the positive thing that if you get bored, you can just change the whole train into a house or something, just by replacing some bricks. But where do you get 00 starter sets (i cant be annoyed buyings some track here and some other there), preferrably with already-painted LU stock?

The DM shows as £49.94p which seems rather steep to me.....

I remember making a class 313 once! You won't find LT 00 starter sets as far as I am aware. You can buy trains ready painted but these will cost a lot more. If you want to make the kits they start at about 50 quid. Of course EFE 1938/59/62 stock is about 100 quid a set and it comes ready to run! Half the fun (for me anyway) is buiding the thing myself. In fact I'm working on my second A60 unit. Photos to come soon.

That Lego stock looks great fun to build. Well done. I can imagine my girls not letting me build a tube train out of it though...
Of course the down side to EFE stuff despite the obvious quality of the 'look' of them is that, having spent your £100 for a four-car set, you then have to find a method of motorising it and fitting the trailing bogies with wheels that will actually roll rather than slide like the EFE ones. The final total bill will be upwards of £150. Considering that the new Bachmann 4-CEP EMU retails at £129 that is actually not too bad for a model that has limited 'mass market' appeal. Of course, if Airfix/GMR had not folded in the mid-eighties and had completed thier project for a ready-to-run 38TS set, things may have been different!
As for an LT 'starter' set for OO, don't rule it out just yet......
