Back in the mid 1980s, A-stock appeared with the Neasden coat of arms, and some of trains were named after Met. people.
I gather the powers that be took a dim view of this and, by 1989 the names had been removed.
I had a list of the names, and found out who most were, but there was one (ALF or ALFIE) who I couldn't trace. Since then I have lost most o the details I had, and only thought about it when I found an old photo of one of the "branded" trains taken at Amersham. Anyone any info on this please?

There has been a list published on the Forum somewhere; if I get chance I'll get my thread-digging tools out in a bit...

Thanks guys,
I understood the person responsible for the "branding" was involved with the Met. side of the Chesham branch centenary, but got into a "bit of bother" because of those trains.
I was told that all the names were long standing employees who had retired within the previous few years, not just motormen, e.g. Val referred to someone who had worked in the canteen.
