A single part question today, but there is a bonus point for working out why this location was chosen today. *Click image for a larger version*

Regent's Park is the only one that fits the bill as far as I can recall. Wrong colours for Arsenal. I did think of Covent Garden but the border tiles there are orange not brown. So Regent's Park it is - I think

I think Covent garden, but you say it's wrong. I think its better to include a answer which could be correct, than to not write anything at all.

Not that it would be beyond our noble quizmaster to do a bit of colour alteration now and then ...

Not that it would be beyond our noble quizmaster to do a bit of colour alteration now and then ... Was thinking towards that too

Not that it would be beyond our noble quizmaster to do a bit of colour alteration now and then ... I wondered about that, but as far as I can tell Arsenal/Gillespie Road has two single rows of coloured tiles, whereas this has one band of single and one double. Not sure about Covent Garden. I'm guessing it's something to do with Armistice Day - but I can't think of any connection with any of the three stations.

If it is indeed Arsenal, then there is a connection with Armistice Day. That connection is with the Royal Arsenal, Woolwich, which was expanded during The Great War. Arsenal Football Club were founded as Dial Square in 1886 by workers at the Royal Arsenal and the club was renamed Royal Arsenal subsequently, renaming again to Woolwich Arsenal after turning professional in 1891. They moved to the Arsenal Stadium in Highbury in 1913, and changed their name to Arsenal in 1914. Gillespie Road was of course re-named Arsenal after the club in 1932. That said I am no doubt totally wrong!

If that's HPC, then perhaps the connection is the Machine Gun Corps Memorial, Royal Artillery Memorial, Australian War Memorial and New Zealand War Memorial in he traffic island?

CSLR and Oracle, between you the answers have been cracked!
Hyde Park Corner - west end of eastbound
Bonus answer: New Zealand War Memorial at HPC dedicated on 11 Nov 2006
