Not the same one twice, then?

I understand that the original TOX was prosecuted, so this might or might not be the same person. IMPORTANT: we do not want the forum, via this or any thread, to become a stage for the pathetically insecure characters who vandalise trains (publicising their tagging for them). I will keep this thread open for the moment, however am sorely tempted to lock it.I will review later.

Are the workers at Upminster Depot trained for maintaining C stock, or is it just D stock? The relevance to this thread being Was the train defective, and being moved east to have the defect fixed, rather than having to potentially crucify the service by going through the city, and failing in the city, en route to either Neasden or Hammersmith?

Upminster depot staff are indeed trained to maintain C stocks - it is they that provide the staff for Barking sidings for overnight maintenance and train preps.
That being said though, they don't hold spare parts for C stocks at Upminster - so generally speaking C stocks will always go to Hammersmith depot regardless of the problem.
If the problem is so severe it could 'crucify the service', the train would be moved at a time that is convenient (ie, late at night) - you certainly wouldn't move it during the peaks.

Over many months now, as Jim has commented before, C Stock are also getting work done at Ealing Common- the train usually arrives on a Sunday and departs a (different) Tuesday. The work seems to take weeks to complete.

Not the same one twice, then? Not unless the car at the Upminster end of the train was renumbered from 5574 to 5530 between the two sightings!

Upminster and Ealing Common stock moves are a little more common than many may think. They are not always planned/published in advance.
The work undertaken at either location varies, though I believe Ealing Common has been undertaking works related mainly to motors.
