It's about time LUL started saying no to NR (Network Rail) (assuming that NR have once again refused LUL) - mind you, they could also work together and plan it so that they work on the same areas at the same time. Take the last NR work a few weeks back - NR replaced a stretch of track in the East Ham area, on their down line (ie, adjacent to 'our' westbound line) - both lines were under possession yet LUL didn't do any work at all (at least not anything obvious). Now I can quite understand that where it's possible for one company (c2c or LUL) to run a service whilst the other is under possession, that would naturally be the preferred way of doing it; and that LUL working on the westbound whilst c2c trains whiz past on the down at 70mph isn't all that practical - surely a bit of joined up planning can't hurt? There is a notorious issue in particular with the westbound District - NR have to be under possession too to keep the track workers safe............but I don't see what the issue is with imposing a TSR (Temporary Speed Limit) on c2c trains where LUL is working on the Westbound District. That possession I mentioned at East Ham - it just smacks of LUL being happy to help NR, but not having the favour returned. Meanwhile the westbound District track is just left to wear away

I remember that closure - one District driver announced the closure on the PA, and said it was due to Network Rail parking their cranes right across our tracks!
By the way, what are the Barking link works?

Great... another wrong stick to watch out for Yes, but as we have now lost the East London line wrong route possibility we will have the same amount of diversionary routes as before

Have had a view of recent compliance documentation in relation to hand worked points for the Barking Link project.

The Upminster link is now very, very dead.
Think of the Barking link as the 'son of Upminster Link'.

No, 'fraid not.
I believe the plan is for even more speed control there as part of the upcoming points and crossings work at the western end of the station.

The Upminster link is now very, very dead. So will they remove that bloody policeman from platform five now ? In my experience, once they put in anything that adds to safety, it stays for good, even if it's no longer relevant to the original purpose.
