Not an answer but the flowers made me smile. Back in the 1980s Network South East celebrated its third birthday by giving all of the Guards carnations as buttonholes to wear. When one of the older Drivers enquired why they weren't getting them one of the Guards replied 'because Pansies don't flower this time of year...'.
