The local press are reporting that work on the new bridge at Amersham station has stopped. Certainly nothing seems to have happened there lately. The press say TFL have cancelled a lot of step free access projects.
All a bit of a nuisance leaving the station frontage as it is. Anyone know any more? Are other projects on the Met line also cancelled?

So are they just going to leave the blue hoarding up indefinitely? That's really disappointing if true. Way to screw up a nice station.

Probably part of Boris's cash cuts I assume. I understand that work may have (or is just about to) stopped at Greenford, Osterley and Kingsbury on the MIP lifts. Newbury Park is also rumoured to be a caualty but they were still working there a week ago.
We wait to see whether blue hoardings will be part of the station furniture for months to come!

Is the bridge still the one that everybody commented on as being 'grossly out of character'?

The framework for the bridge has been completed at ground level (i.e., one floor high) on the station building side. I haven't been able to see whether anything has been done within the hoardings on the island platform. I hope that if work has been cancelled that funding will allow the work that has been done to be tidied up. Memories of the rusting structure at Finsbury Park spring to mind...
