Ok a poor play on the lyrics of the song used in the theme tune for COPS; but it's that time of the year, and the sound of proper compressers and MG's can be heard on the Central line again. Train 480 is the 8 car 62 stock, re-livered into LUL corperate colours is working it's Sandite duty magic on the rails of the eastend. However as shewn in the picture, the westend 5 car! 62 is still on 49 west road at Ruislip depot and shall not be brought out to play this year. The truely sad point is not only have they neutered her, colourised the silver fox, but crime upon crime, installed 92TS compressors removing the tuneful whering noise. On well at least its a 62 on the road again?? I'll be posting photos of the make over at some point soon on my flickr stream. www.flickr.com/photos/routemaster/

I thought it was a 38 stock at first! How is this train formed. DM-NDM-T-NDM-DM?

Three times daily, I have the TTN on the works email.
I got stuck behind it on the last westbound all the way down from Epping. Then delayed 5 minutes while it was turned off the platform.

This picture causes me to speculate how punters would have appreciated the 59s and 62s being red during their active years.

It's obviously normal on the Central line but to me it looks strange to see a train going around with a tripcock cut out. I assume there's now some sort of box in the cab giving the ATP status?

You have to admit it looks far more handsom in orsman than the 92ts by it does. The aesthetic is just so much simpler and cleaner.

Is it just a coincidence that since this train has been running there seems to be a lot of 92TS units with noisy flats? While waiting for a main line at Stratford this morning at least 3 trains went through with loud flats.

When the 92s were first introduced we were proudly told that it was impossible to put flats on them.
