Hi all.
I've been wondering what the best Class 37 model would be? Bachmann, Heljan, ViTrains or anything else.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

ViTrains is quite good, I'd reccomend these!

The Vitrains one is ok but, after many revisions, the Bachmann one is actually looking like a 37 and is the better model in my eyes! It depends which one you want and why. Remember, if you are after one to run on an LT line then you need a lightweight 37/0,37/4 or 37/5 (the EPS ones, 37601-12 are ok. I drove one of them over the Putney line!). Heavyweight refurbished (37/7 or 37/9) are not allowed as are any locomotives fitted with roof mounted air horns or central snow ploughs. A picture is on its way to you.

I remember class 37s running on the Met when they were taking A stock to be refurbished in the 1990s.

The ViTrains 37 also has had some questionmarks over its mechanism. My local model shop had some returned due to breakdown. Despite thier reluctance to get the 'look' of certain Diesels right first time (and, to be fair, they are not the only ones) Bachmann mechanisms cannot be faulted! I have a number of Bachmann diesels and they all run beautifully. They'll pull a house down too! Buy a current Bachmann 37 (as opposed to a second-hand early one with the faults in the bodywork) and you won't be disappointed.

Although the early Bachmann class 37/s have bodywork faults, they still look better than other models with body errors.
