Following on from bits in the "Chesham" thread, readers may be interested in a summary of the Monday to Friday UXB-BKG service when introduced. Three types of stock were scheduled - Q(38), P (shown as 'M' for Metadyne in the WTT) and V (1904-21 Saloon), with more V Stock until sufficient P Stock became available. As you will see, it was more than "Uxbridge" that was served with Met trains to and from Barking.
MORNING PEAK South/Eastbound
25 trains, 23 to Barking and 2 to East Ham (at the end of the peak).
18 originated from Uxbridge between 06.01 and 08.38, 2 from Rayners Lane, 2 from Harrow. 1 from Wembley Park and 2 from Neasden.
MORNING PEAK West/Northbound
29 trains, 28 from Barking and 1 from East Ham.
15 to Uxbridge arriving Uxbridge 07.31 to 09.41, 1 to Rayners Lane, 3 to Harrow, 2 to Stanmore, 7 to Wembley Park and 1 to Baker Street (and empty to Neasden).
EVENING PEAK - West/Northbound
18 trains, 17 from Barking, 1 from East Ham.
17 to Uxbridge arriving Uxbridge 18.16 to 20.23, 1 to Watford (arriving at 20.20).
EVENING PEAK South/Eastbound
22 trains, 21 to Barking, 1 to East Ham.
10 originated from Uxbridge between 16.49 and 18.35, 1 from Rayners Lane (at 16.42), 1 from Rickmansworth (at 15.55), 1 from Watford (at 17.16), 2 from Stanmore (at 16.49 and 17.09), 3 from Wembley Park, 2 from Neasden and 1 from Baker Street (empty from Neasden). This makes 21 trains. The 22nd train was made up from 2x4-car V Stock which coupled at Wembley Park southbound 16.30 to 16.38, the front portion from Stanmore (depart 16.19), the rear portion from Rayners Lane (depart 16.22). One wonders how often this got 'missed' if the service was disrupted?
