Why are there wooden sleepers on the DLR that seem to support only the running rail nearest the platform? At least at Poplar and Bow Church stations, they are spaced between the normal concrete sleepers after every 7th one. This photo was taken at Bow Church.

My only guess is as a spacer to prevent track creep towards the platform. There is a similar system at Great Portland Street if I remember correctly.
