This represents some progress. The 6 car set stops automatically at one train length and starts with push of a button and accelerates at a preprogrammed rate. The Metromodels stock is super detailed, a project which took about 1.5years.
Enjoy!

WOW!! I like the arcing as the train leaves, the only disapointment is the light in the tunnel as the train enters the platform, some sort of card tunnel is perhaps an answer.

Yeah, Jim. I haven't built tunnel an that side of the station yet. This is going to happen along with station lighting.

Looks really good mate! It will be easy to darken the other tunnel side. Keep up the good work. Hopefully I'll have something to show soon.

Fantastic work Cyberman! The whole station looks great and I particularly like the tiling on the walls. For me it is the interior lighting in the tube train that is the finishing touch. Superb! Wiring up things such as that and the necessary stuff for the arcing flashes would scare the wotnot out of me! It is seeing other peoples work like this that keeps me going and spurs me on to finally build my own layout. Watch this space.....

I just love that way it comes in and slows down.......it is pretty much the real thing! If I narrow my eyes it seems like looking at a vid of somewhere in the pipe!!

Oh forgot to mention the arcing too! Overall that is an absolutely brilliant model and you should be well proud In fact, the more and more I watch the clip I am amazed.....the interior lights are superb, I love the little details like lit up set numbers and the little gate at the end of the platform.....even the look of the platform with the yellow line and everything! Could go on and on but they're the main bits that caught my attention!

Thanks, "The Major"! The arcing is simply a white LED embedded in the track near the third or forth rail. A magnetic reed switch senses the magnets on the motor bogies (the non-motorised "motor bogies" have a permanent magnet affixed to the underside), and triggers the current through the respective LED. There is one on entry into the station also. For added affect, I drive the LED with a circuit torn out of one of those LED flickering candles. When the train moves at slow speed over the reed switch the arc will appear to flicker.
I find a real danger in the detail, and progress is very slow because of getting hung up on the little things.

The problem I have is also sorting out the little things that prevent me making progress.... Wife, Kids....

That really is amazing, wondeful detailing. I've dabbled with a little modelling, but you've blown my socks off with that!
