LU move customers from A to B, they used to do it via 'C'.

Yes, funnily enough, I do! We are just carrying out a dry run of our 'Operational Safety Plan' to ensure that it runs smoothly ahead of the tests for the actual train when it arrives. I was supposed to be there but as I need to be on Train 2 at Old Dalby early the next morning I am going to leave it to the rest of the team!

We are just carrying out a dry run of our 'Operational Safety Plan' ... Any chance of a little enlightenment as to what this plan is for? There's not many clues in the title, other than it's a plan for operating safely, which surely happens anyway. Yours, Confuzzled of Liverpool

Yes, sorry - my fault! In order to be able to run the train during engineering hours and to carry out testing we need to demonstrate that we have a safe method of working. This is called an Operational Safety Plan and it details how we get to and from site, how we operate within the site, and any approved alterations to the recognised way of working (if there are any such alterations). Our Operational Safety Plan has been approved but we are going out on Monday night (with existing stock) anyway in order to satisfy ourselves that (A) It does what it says on the tin, and (B) It allows us to complete what we want to do within the laid out restrictions. It is also a chance for everyone who has seen the plan 'on paper' to be able to witness it in reality and for everyone to bring themselves 'up to speed' on what we will be doing.

Ahhh, so in effect, you're testing the new stock, but using the old stuff to make sure that the way you're going to test the new stuff is OK?
