Travelling eastbound into London yesterday morning the 1992 train was giving out very odd announcements.
From North Acton to Holland Park it announced the name of the station correctly, but added that the train terminated at Ealing Broadway.
It was corrected after Notting Hill Gate. I don't know if the destination was wrong from the beginning of the journey on the West Ruislip branch, as my mind had tuned out of the announcements.

This happens if the T/Op doesn't enter the correct PTI information upon changing ends at the terminus. They either noticed it themselves or were informed by the Controller (who receives indications in the control room if a train has incorrect PTI information entered) and entered the correct code after leaving Notting Hill Gate.

I only registered that the destination was wrong when some passengers jumped out at North Acton, presumably thinking that the train was about to go west towards Ealing Broadway.
Thanks for letting me know how the error could ahve been spotted.

Not necessarily true, in most cases the driver DOES input the correct PTI, but on some trains the PTI does not accept the code for some specific destinations, so what is displayed and announced is from the previous journey. An irritant that is constantly reported but nothing done about.

Confused trains seem to happen quite often on SWT - usually the "roundabouts", which go out on the Windsor Lines (when they call at Queenstown Road) and back on the main (when they don't), or vice versa. I assume they are controlled by GPS , and can't tell which line (or direction) they are going, and sometimes announce QtRd when they shouldn't.
"Mind the Gap between the rain and the platform" - quite so; there are four tracks in that gap!
