The link seems to be b0rked - as it only takes me to myspace homepage - any chance of tinkering with the link so we can have a look - as I'm sure it'll look quite fab.

I thought I'd export what I have done so far to see what it looks like in the sim. I tried a bit of shine on the interior paintwork. The sun was rising to the right with the time set to 6.00am. This cab is no where near finished but I have modelled the side window frames but not the M door frames yet. There is no shadow model so the sun shines through everywhere at the moment but the finished model will have it comming through the windows only. Looking good though, I think. vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=100732925

Absolutely fantastic - I can almost hear the sounds of these music makers ..... (goes to put on audio tape of Pre-1938s on the IoW)

Thanks Eirikh0. I tried that but the images still wouldn't show. Maybe something I'm doing wrong. After reading the tutorial it seems my image url's do not end in .jpg or.bmp or some other picture format, but a code. These codes seem to work on the UKTrainsim forum using postimage.org but not on this one. www.postimage.org/image.php?gallery=194L1f

Here we go. The 1927 Feltham stock after a 1935 New Works Program cab refit. Shame we only have the IOW to run it on but I think the Virtual District PW gang are on the case.
Many thanks go to the users of this forum for making this cab a reality, mainly TubePrune and ChrisW and the staff of the Acton Depot Museum.

Wonderful - nice bit of bang road running. First class bit of work there, Darren.

I love it. Especially like the 'pop' of the line breakers when lifting off. Reminds me of my A stock!

Thanks for the comments guys. I don't know if they actually did go pop when lifting off as I added that sound from my 1938ts recording from the centenary tour. I took it for granted they did. Maybe TP could answer that one.

Maybe TP could answer that one. They didn't sound like the 38TS line breakers opening - it was more like a loud "clack". The contactors were not air operated; they were electro-magnetic.

I thought the pop was to do with the arc being extinguished when the contactor opened. Whoops! got that wrong.

Did the Q stock sound like the standard stock because they were also electro-magnetic?

I thought the pop was to do with the arc being extinguished when the contactor opened. Whoops! got that wrong. Yes, you are right but the sound was quite different on 38 Stock. It also varied according to the load at the moment of opening. The contactors on the Standard Stock were all equipped to open under full load according to where they were in the sequence. For the 38s, the line breakers were the only contactors designed to open under load at any point in the sequence. The control was different.

Did the Q stock sound like the standard stock because they were also electro-magnetic? It was the same equipment as the BTH Standard Stock and very similar to the MV and GEC equipment. They could and did work in multiple.

Great, so when the Q stock gets back on the road, CabDarren can use the sound from them! ;D I notice the pop of the contactors varies in noise and savageness on the A stock. Sometimes it's a real jolt and it's very loud, sometimes it's gentle and smooth. Love it.

Q stock, now there's a thought. Not sure if I could persuade Richard to model that one. I didn't get very good cab pictures of that one because it was in a bit of a state and too dangerous to go inside.
I've converted the textures on the Standard Stock for the Class 485 but I'm not sure if they were grey inside but knowing BR cab colours at the time it's most probably somewhere near. I would imagine that some of the equipment was missing especially the SCD which wouldn't have been required on the 485. The seat material was also different so that needs changing

Hi mate,
I have some class 485 cab photos if you need and help with the details?
