Hi everybody this is my first post,lot of good stuff on here...does anybody know the exact location of the original farringdon tube station i gather it opened in 1863 `a short walk from the current station`so where was it??......... thanks....

I don't know for certain, but I've always believed the original Farringdon Street station to be where the relatively new office block next to the Thameslink platforms is, and perhaps slightly closer to Kings Cross.
I think that Alan A Jackson's excellent book London's Metropolitan Railway will give the definitive answer although I'm not sure of the chances of getting hold of one.
